How does it work?

Tart cherries are unusually rich in anthocyanins — the pigment compounds behind their deep red colour, and the part of the fruit most of the research has looked at.

Getting a meaningful amount from juice means drinking a lot of sugar. Getting it from fresh cherries means eating a bowl a day, out of season, forever. A 10:1 extract is the practical version: the same fruit, concentrated, in two capsules.

What it supports

  • Muscle recovery after activity
  • Normal, restful sleep
  • Everyday joint comfort
  • Your body's natural antioxidant defences

What's in it

  • 360 mg of a 10:1 Montmorency extract — equivalent to 3,600 mg of whole fruit
  • Third-party tested, every batch — report published with the product
  • Vegan, non-GMO, no added sugar
Why choose tart cherry?

A real extract, not cherry powder. 360 mg of a 10:1 Montmorency extract. The ratio is printed on our label because it's the only number that tells you what you're actually getting.

Anthocyanins without the sugar. Tart cherry's studied compounds come with a lot of fruit sugar when you drink them. The extract doesn't.

A named variety. Montmorency — not generic "tart cherry." It's the variety used in most of the published research, and it's on our label.

Third-party tested, every batch. An independent lab confirms identity and potency, and the report is published with the product — not held until someone asks.

What to expect

Take it daily. Consistency matters more than timing.

Week 1 — Nothing dramatic. This isn't a stimulant, and anything promising you'll feel it on day one is selling you something else.

Weeks 2–3 — This is roughly where the published research starts measuring. If it's going to do something for you, this is when.

Week 4 and on — The point was never a moment. It's that the thing you'd normally notice stops being the thing you notice.

Who can use it?

Adults who want to support recovery, sleep and everyday joint comfort with one simple, plant-based input — and who'd rather know exactly what's in the capsule than take a label's word for it.

Who it isn't for: anyone under 18, anyone pregnant or nursing, and anyone hoping a supplement will replace something their doctor prescribed. If you take medication or have a diagnosed condition, ask your doctor first.

Why trust EDH?

We're new. So rather than asking you to take our word for anything, here's what you can check yourself:

  • Third-party tested — every batch, and the report is published with it
  • The full label, on this page — no proprietary blends
  • The ratio printed, not just the big number — 360 mg of a 10:1
  • Vegan capsule — hypromellose, not gelatin

What People Notice First

Verified buyers on the third week, the mornings that got easier, and the nights they finally slept through.

5/5

Finally sleeping through the night at 61.

"I'd been waking at 3am almost every night for two years, and I'd tried melatonin, magnesium and two different sleep teas. The melatonin left me groggy until lunchtime. My daughter kept sending me the tart cherry studies, so I gave EDH a go. Around the third week I realised I'd slept straight through four nights running. I'm up once for the bathroom now instead of lying awake until five. My husband noticed before I said anything. Third bottle now."

Day two after leg day stopped ruining my week.

"I've lifted since my twenties and I'm 58 now. The problem was never the workout, it was the second day after — stiff getting out of the car, stiff on the stairs at the office. I'd tried collagen and a BCAA powder and neither did a thing I could point at. With EDH the day-two stiffness was clearly shorter by about week two. I'm back under the bar on Thursday instead of writing off the weekend. Two reorders in, and my training partner is on it too."

First one that actually worked for my knee pain.

"I've tried probably 6 or 7 different cherry supplements over the past three years for my knee pain from an old soccer injury. Most did absolutely nothing, one made my stomach upset. EDH is the first one where I noticed a difference within about 10 days. I can go up and down stairs at work without that sharp pain I'd gotten so used to. My physical therapist even commented that my range of motion improved. I'm on my third bottle now and plan to keep ordering."

My hands work in the morning again.

"I'm 64 and I garden most days, and for two winters my hands were stiff enough that I'd put off going out until the afternoon. I'd tried a turmeric blend and a fish oil and honestly could not tell you whether either of them did anything at all. I picked EDH because the label printed the ratio instead of one big number. Around day twelve I noticed I was out with the secateurs before nine. My daughter says I've stopped complaining. Third bottle now."

Ellen K., OR Verified Buyer
5/5

Irritating, because my brother-in-law was right.

"I bought this for general stiffness after my brother-in-law wouldn't stop going on about it, mostly so he would drop the subject. Four weeks in I realised I had stopped noticing my lower back on the drive home, and I had noticed it every single day for a year. So the only real downside is that I now have to tell him he was right, and he is unbearable about being right. Sleeping better as well, unexpectedly. Third bottle, and my wife is on it now too."

Two long walks in a row, back to back.

"Sixty this year, and I walk the foothills most weekends. The trouble was I could manage Saturday or Sunday but never both — by the second morning my calves and knees had already talked me out of it. I'd tried a magnesium spray and a compression sleeve with no real change either way. About two weeks into EDH I did back-to-back days for the first time since my fifties. Not miraculous. I just wasn't stiff enough to skip it. Reordering since March."

Bought it to prove a point. Lost the argument.

"I have been burned by proprietary blends more than once, so I bought this purely because the ratio was printed on the front instead of hidden behind one big number. If I am honest I half wanted it to fail so I could say I told you so. Somewhere in the third week I started sleeping through more nights than not, after the best part of a year waking at four. My one complaint is that I do not get to be cynical about this any more. Second bottle."

One Simple Ingredient

One ingredient. That's the entire formula.

No proprietary blend. No stack of eleven botanicals at 4 mg each to pad the label. No "and other natural ingredients." Montmorency tart cherry extract, in a vegetarian capsule.

[1] Montmorency tart cherry extract

360 mg per serving of a 10:1 extract — 3,600 mg of fruit equivalent. Montmorency is the sour variety the research is actually done on, not the sweet cherry you eat. We print the ratio because a milligram number without one tells you nothing.

[2] Hypromellose (the capsule)

The capsule shell, and nothing else. Plant-derived cellulose instead of gelatin, which is what makes this suitable for vegetarians. It has no active role: it holds the powder and then dissolves.

[3] Magnesium stearate from vegetable source

A flow agent, in the low milligrams. It stops the powder sticking to the machinery so every capsule gets the same fill. Vegetable-derived, not animal. It is listed here because leaving it off a panel is exactly the habit we built this brand against.

[4] Rice powder

Bulking agent. The active dose does not fill a capsule on its own, so something inert has to take up the rest of the space. Rice powder is about as inert as it gets — and we would rather name it than write “other ingredients”.

How to take it

Two capsules. That's the routine.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long before I notice anything?

Most of the published research runs 7 to 10 days for sleep and recovery measures. Give it two to three weeks before you judge it. Anthocyanins work cumulatively.

Is 3,600 mg actually inside the capsule?

No — and we'd rather say so. What's in the capsule is 360 mg of a 10:1 Montmorency extract, which is the concentrated equivalent of 3,600 mg of whole fruit. That is why the ratio is printed next to the number on our label. A brand printing 3,600 mg with no ratio is asking you not to ask this question.

I've tried tart cherry before and it did nothing. Why would this be different?

Most likely you took cherry powder, or an extract with no stated ratio, at a dose nobody printed. If the label didn't tell you what you were getting, there's no way to know whether you took enough of it. Ours states the ratio, the dose and the variety, so if it doesn't work for you, at least you know what didn't work.

Is this the same as drinking tart cherry juice?

Same fruit, different delivery. Juice brings the studied compounds along with a substantial amount of fruit sugar, and the concentration varies bottle to bottle. The extract is the concentrated part, standardised, without the sugar.

When should I take it?

Two capsules daily, with food, at whatever time you'll actually remember. Consistency matters more than timing.

Will it help with my condition?

We can't answer that, and anyone who does is guessing on your behalf. This is a food supplement, not a treatment for any condition. If you have a diagnosed condition, ask your doctor before adding anything.

Can I take it with my medication?

Ask your doctor or pharmacist first. That's not us being cautious for the sake of it — they can see your full list and we can't.

Is it vegan?

Yes. Hypromellose capsule, not gelatin. Non-GMO, no added sugar.

What's actually in the lab report?

Identity and potency for the extract, plus heavy metals and microbials, run by an independent lab on your batch — not on a sample from a previous run. The lot number on your bottle is the lot number on the report.

Shipping and returns?

Shipped from the US. If nothing has changed after 90 days, email us and we'll refund the purchase price — bottle empty or full, and you don't need to ship it back. Full terms in our refund policy.

She reminded me to reorder

My wife has arthritis in her hands and her knees, and the first hour of the morning was the worst of it. Some days she'd skip the garden altogether. She thinks supplements are nonsense, so getting her to try this took some doing. She's been on it about four months now and the mornings just aren't the event they used to be. She reminded me to reorder when we were getting low, which tells you more than anything I could write here.

Joint comfort

First one I've stayed on

I've been through six or seven cherry supplements in the last three years for a knee that's never been right since an old football injury. Most did nothing at all, and one upset my stomach badly enough that I binned it. This is the first I'm still taking past the second bottle. Stairs at work are the thing I notice - I'm not thinking about them the way I was.

My doctor suggested tart cherry, so I went looking

My GP mentioned tart cherry when we were talking about my uric acid, so I started reading labels. Most just print a big milligram number with no ratio anywhere. This one prints 360 mg of a 10:1 and names the variety, and that is why I picked it. Two months in, my last blood draw came back better than the one before, and the foot pain that used to arrive out of nowhere has been quiet.

My daughter noticed before I said anything

I've started and abandoned a lot of supplements over the years, usually around week four when nothing has happened. I'm still on this one. Less achy generally, and sleeping through more often than I was. My daughter asked what I'd changed before I'd mentioned I was taking anything, which is the part that convinced me it wasn't in my head.

Back to coaching a full session

I coach youth baseball two evenings a week and my shoulder and hip were taking a beating. I'd got as far as thinking about cutting back to one night. About six weeks on this and I'm getting through a full session and the next morning without much complaint. Two with dinner, and that's the whole routine.

No flare since March

Gout since my early fifties and I've tried most of what gets suggested. I started this in March and I haven't had an attack since. I'm not calling it a cure and I haven't changed my diet, so make of that what you will - but I'm not stopping just to run the experiment properly.

The only one that showed me the report

Bought this for the label rather than the marketing. The ratio is on the front, the cherry variety is named, and the batch report was actually there when I went looking - three things every other bottle I picked up got wrong. Whether it is doing more than the last one I couldn't honestly say yet, but I trust what is in it.

Some difference, not the transformation

Six weeks in. Mornings are a bit easier than they were and I'll take that. I was hoping for more based on what I had read, and I would rather say so than write a five star review I don't mean. No complaint about the product itself - easy to take, no aftertaste.

Third bottle

Third bottle now. Nothing dramatic to report, which after the last four things I tried is exactly the point. Two with lunch, I've stopped thinking about it, and I noticed properly on the week I ran out and went back to how I was before.
